NATIONAL LOCKDOWN ~ Information, please read

  • We are currently under a national lockdown – please read the national restrictions we are all being asked to follow here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november#stay-at-home
  • The guidelines say “Hospitality venues like restaurants, bars and pubs must close, but can still provide takeaway services”
  • We will be open 10am to 3pm offering a take-away menu
  • Customers will queue at a safe distance and come into the café one at a time to order and collect their take-away from the counter
  • Face coverings (if able) are mandatory when coming in to order
  • Card payments only, no cash
  • There will be no inside seating and the outside tables will not be serviced
  • Your food and drinks should be taken away from our premises
  • NHS Test & Trace information does not need to be sought for take-aways

Staying Safe ~ Covid-19

We understand this is a strange time for everyone. We want to return to normality as much as you do, but we also recognise there is still a risk to people’s health and we have a responsibility to our team and to you to manage that risk as best as possible.

We have considered every aspect of our business, assessed the risk and made changes accordingly to ensure you can feel safe and confident when visiting us. There are some things we need your help with too, such as keeping your distance, clearing your own rubbish to the bin station and of course, please not visiting us if you are feeling unwell.

COVID-SECURE DAYTIME VISITS ~ MAIN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Same lovingly prepared, locally sourced, delicious food, just slightly smaller menu
  • Same wonderfully happy, smiley team, just keeping their distance
  • There is plenty of outside seating, just turn up, find a table and order
  • We have a limited amount of inside seating with full table service, booking advised
  • All food & drinks during the day will be served in eco-friendly disposable packaging (Why? When we did our Risk Assessment we needed to find ways to keep staff as separated and safely distanced as possible. Removing a person from washing the dishes creates space for us to work more safely)
  • We have removed as many touch points as possible, one being physical menus. Instead you will be able read the menu from your smartphone by scanning a QR Code on the table
  • Once ready to order you will queue at a safe distance and enter the cafe one at a time to order and pay, or if sitting inside press a call button to notify your table host
  • We will not be handling cash – only card payments
  • Outside a pager will notify you when your order is ready to collect, inside your table host will deliver your order to you
  • Face coverings (if able) are to be worn at all times when inside, but can be removed when seated in order to eat or drink

OTHER THINGS THAT WILL HELP KEEP EVERYONE SAFE WHEN YOU VISIT DURING THE DAY

  • Face coverings (if able) are now mandatory in hospitality venues, but can be removed when seated in order to eat or drink
  • It is against the law to meet in groups larger than 6 people, indoors or outdoors, unless you all live together (or are in the same support bubble)
  • To keep things simple and safe for our team we are not accepting bookings larger than 6 people, this includes children and infants
  • Keep your distance from staff and other customers not in your household or support bubble
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided
  • Don’t forget to check-in using the NHS App, or if you don’t have the app we will give you an NHS Test & Trace Card to complete and leave with us
  • If sitting outside please only send one person in to order to keep space for staff to pass safely
  • The cafe toilet is reserved for booked inside tables and staff only, but the National Trust Toilets are open and being frequently cleaned
  • If sitting outside please don’t forget to clear your rubbish away to the bin station, the staff will be safer and ever so happy
  • Lastly – it goes without saying – please DO NOT VISIT US IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL
  • We have a detailed and comprehensive COVID-19 Risk Assessment that is being reviewed and updated regularly. You can read it here.
